Hallie Jay Pope

Founder + President

Hallie has been incorporating cartoons into her legal advocacy since law school. As a fellow at the ACLU of Massachusetts, she created comics and animations about student privacy, reproductive rights, and police accountability. Her Supreme Court cartoons are featured in Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Hallie is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Law School. She has completed courses at the School of Visual Arts, the Rhode Island School of Design, and the Harvard Department of Visual and Environmental Studies.

Emma Clippinger, Board Chair

Emma is a clinical fellow at Harvard's Food Law & Policy Clinic. She is the co-founder and former director of Gardens for Health. Emma is a graduate of Brown University and NYU School of Law.


Liz Valentin, Secretary

Liz is an AmeriCorps Attorney with Community Legal Aid in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she assists clients overcome the civil collateral consequences of their criminal records. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University and Harvard Law School.


Sonal Mittal Tolman, Treasurer

Sonal is an associate at Wilson, Ronsini, Goodrich, & Rosati, where she works on privacy and cyber-security issues, including novel issues arising under privacy and Internet law. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School.


Margaret Hagan

Margaret is the Director of the Legal Design Lab and a lecturer at Stanford Institute of Design (the d.school). She is a graduate of Stanford Law School and holds an AB from the University of Chicago, an MA from Central European University in Budapest, and a PhD from Queen’s University Belfast in International Politics.
